News and Announcements

• Spring club soccer will be here before you know it. We start getting ready in February and the time to sign up is NOW! We are looking for players to fill roster spots on our U11 Girls and Boys teams (turn age 11 between 8/1/2011 and 7/31/2012), our U13 Boys team (turn age 13 between 8/1/2011 and 7/31/2012 ) and U12 girls team (turn age 12 between 8/1/2011 and 7/31/2012).
• Practices for some teams will start the first weekend of February. Check with your head coach.
• The season begins March 10 and should be over by May 6th.
• Tryouts for next fall will start the second week of May. Check back to get exact times and locations.
• June 19, 20  U11 Boys will be at the Summer Kickoff Tournament at Virginia Tech.
• June & July 2012 - OFF
• Practice for fall 2012 season will begin for some teams on August 2.
• Fall 2012 season begins - September  8, 2012
• Fall 2012 season ends - November 4, 2012

What Franklin County rec soccer parents should know.

Season Starts 3/10

If your child is playing recreational soccer in Franklin county, there is a limit your child can acheive, and it is not the fault of his or her coach. Unlike baseball and football, there is no soccer governing body in Franklin county to oversee the coaching training, or quality of play. Rec coaches are to be highly commended for volunteering their time, money, and efforts in working with the kids. But even the best coaches or best kids can’t go the next level, because in Franklin County rec soccer, there is no next level. There are no standings, champions, or tournaments.

This is where we come in. We are part of larger soccer associations such as the VYSA and US Youth Soccer. That gives our kids the chance to play on much larger stages. When our kids are old enough, they can play in front of college scouts. Our coaches have to be trained to have certain standards,and our players play in more competitive games - and all that is designed to give our kids more chances to take their game wherever they want to go.

Know Before You Go!

In case of an practice or game cancellation we will notify you by emails and text messages. We work through a free service called RainedOut. But to recieve those notices, you have to sign up. You can sign up online or with your cell phone. Each team receives it’s own messages, so each team has it’s own code to sign up with. You can sign up for one or all of the teams.
